Title: LINCOLN

On the 26^th of February we went to Clonmel to see the film LINCOLN. This film was about the American Civil War and Abraham Lincoln’s attempts to get the thirteenth Amendment to the constitution passed. 

The thirteenth Amendment was to change the constitution to abolish slavery. The main characters in the film were: President Abraham Lincoln played by Daniel Day Lewis, his wife Mary Lincoln played by Sally Field. Gulliver McGrath played Lincoln’s youngest son Thomas ‘Tad’ Lincoln. Tommy Lee Jones played Thaddeus Stevens. The acting throughout the film was very good.

This film was a bit too long and it was difficult to concentrate on it all of the time. It would be ideal film for anyone interested in American History. In our opinion it was great to see slavery abolished. The film was rated 12A. We would give this film a three out of five star rating,  3/5.

The movie Lincoln is a 2012 American historical film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg, The film tells the story of the turbulent life of the sixteenth president of the United States - Abraham Lincoln. It focuses on his efforts to enact abolishing slavery amendments to the Constitution.

I thought for a moment that Spielberg made ​​a movie just for Oscars. Do not get me wrong, this is a really good movie. One in which everything is done perfectly, screenplay, cinematography (  Janusz Kaminski), music, set design and costumes. It's such an American history lesson.

But before I tell you about this lesson, I would like to write about the actors. Daniel Day-Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field, and David Strathairn just make the difference. The perfect choice of actors. Anyone can feel free to fight for the prize. Film "Lincoln" is so authentic that we believe that it really is him, he behaved like the true Abraham Lincoln. Credibility is the most important task as an actor. And Daniel Day-Lewis did it.
